In this, our first weekly video in our Easter reflections series, Fr. Ron Will. CPPS, and Fr. Joseph Uecker, CPPS, discuss recent experiences they have had — Emmaus experiences — of being surprised by Jesus. They talk about see the Kingdom of God unfolding in their midst, in oftentimes surprising and unexpected ways.
Fr. Ron and Fr. Joe remember these experiences and exclaim — like the disciples on the road to Emmaus — “Were not our hearts burning within us?”
Fr. Ron Will said that his Emmaus moment came while he studied Pope Francis’ latest encyclical and its challenge to him to tear down the emotional and psychological walls that he was built between himself and other people.
Fr. Joe Uecker describes how sitting alone in his apartment during Holy Week he found and felt connections to the Universal Church — on Earth and in Heaven. “And I knew without a doubt,” he said, “that I was not alone.”
Presented here are two powerful witnesses of the interconnections of the Christian community and how the Kingdom of God breaks into our lives in powerful ways — today.

This is a great make-ahead recipe and a great to-go meal. Serve with a crusty baguette or crunchy bread sticks and you have a full, fresh, healthy meal.
