Lisa Wagner-Carollo, the founder and artistic director of the Still Point Theatre Collective, will bring this one-woman play to the Renewal Center for an evening performance.
Supper will proceed the show.
Fr. Joe Nassal will introduce the play, and Wagner-Carollo and Nassal will answer questions about Dorothy Day after the performance.
The evening schedule:
Haunted by God is an acclaimed play about Dorothy Day (1897-1980) who, as the co-founder of the Catholic Worker movement, spent 47 years caring for the poor and leading the Catholic Church to a more active participation in social justice. The church began a canonical investigation into Day’s cause for canonization in 2016.
When Pope Francis made his historic address to Congress in 2015, he called Day one of four “great Americans,” along with Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr. and Thomas Merton, the Catholic monk.
Haunted by God is dramatic portrait of this inspiring woman. It follows Dorothy Day from her days as a 17-year-old Greenwich Village bohemian through her career as a journalist and then as a tireless champion of social justice.
It has been called “a compelling warts-and-all portrait” and “wonderfully uplifting theater experience.”

An Assembling God’s Puzzle video
By Fr. Garry Richmeier, C.PP.S.
Blowing off steam about everything that is wrong in the world — and there’s plenty of that — can be therapeutic, but if such griping becomes the norm of our conversations and thinking, we can easily slip into cynicism, which is not helpful and doesn’t feel good.
Family Matters by Lucia Ferrara
Family time does not always mean going to Florida every summer; it means creating traditions and making connections that create lasting memories. And that can be done with your family with limited time and without breaking the bank.
