Like Job, we cry out, “Where is my hope?” We long to hear Joshua, “Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you.” We pray for hope and trust as we gather in April for our Taizé prayer service.

We gather in December around an Advent Wreath in anticipation of the Incarnation, of God entering the world and our lives. Rays of light from the wreath’s candles encircle us and those we love.

November is Native American Heritage Month. It is a yearly opportunity to learn about native peoples and cultures, and to celebrate the gifts that they bring to our lives and society. Our November Taizé prayer will incorporate elements of Native American prayer. We will praise God and pray for healing among nations.

We gather to pray that Christ the Teacher will send the Holy Spirit for this new school year. We need the Holy Spirit not just in our classrooms, but in our daily circles of activity: in family life, at work, at church and in our social activities. Come, Holy Spirit, come.

The Renewal Center resumed in-person programming on July 1 with an ecumenical service in the Taizé style. The theme of the evening was Prayers for Healing and Renewal.
