Today we will deepen our reflection on emotions that stir within us when watching a music video featuring the song, “I Can Only Imagine.”
Let me tell you about the artists. Mat and Savanna Shaw are a dad and daughter duo that made their debut during Covid and have become quite popular holding concerts and making CDs and music videos. They have beautiful voices that are a wonderful gift to the world. Their music can be found on YouTube, Amazon Music, and I am sure other music outlets. In this video, they are singing with a Brazilian singer, Nathan Pacheco.
I have listened to the song, “I Can Only Imagine,” too many times to count. It continues to fill me with deep, palpable emotions.
As you listen and watch the video, reflect on the emotions that surface. This will take your meditation to a deeper level. After viewing the video, ponder the questions presented below. Journaling also encourages a deeper, Spirit-led meditation. You may be moved to journal your responses. Don’t limit yourself to words. Sometimes words are lacking when expressing profound emotions. Perhaps you will be moved to art journal your experience.
On Thursday evenings beginning Sept. 15, Fr Garry Richmeier will be facilitating Bridges to Contemplative Living with Thomas Merton using the Ave Maria’s booklet: Adjusting Your Life’s Vision. Details are on the website.
Until we meet again, may the good Lord keep you in the palm of his hand.

As a wife, mother, sister daughter, etc., I play many roles every day. I refer to this as my “juggling act.” Are you a juggler, too? Jugglers need a fine sense of balance. How does one achieve such balance?
“The Eucharist: The Gift That Keeps on Giving … and giving, and giving.”

This is my fourth reflection on the Eucharistic Prayers. During this year devoted to the Eucharistic Revival, I am reflecting on the words that we hear in the Eucharistic Prayers when we celebrate Mass.
