    Becoming Eucharistic People:

A 4-Part Series in Support of Eucharistic Revival

This series draws on two important events in the life of the church: The Synod on Synodality that opens in Rome on Oct. 4 and the Eucharistic Revival taking place in the U.S. church now. To speak plainly, a synodal church is a eucharistic church.

The “instrumentum laboris,” the working document, that will guide discussion at the synod when it convenes in Rome is calls communion, participation and mission the “three priority issues for the synodal Church.” They are the priority issues of this series as well.

Session 2: Go in Peace: Becoming ‘Instruments of Communion’

    • Oct. 3 | 6:30-8 p.m.
    • Fr. Joseph Nassal, C.PP.S.

From the feeding of the multitude to washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus embodied Eucharist with service. Explore how we become, in the words of Pope Francis, “credible witnesses” of the Real Presence when we serve “those who are poor, suffering, weary, or who may go astray.”

Session 3: Eucharist Is An Active Verb

    • Oct. 17 | 6:30-8 p.m.
    • Elizabeth Madeo

As the Spirit moves us through Sacred actions and word, the Eucharist invites us to experience the Divine. Praying the prayers that Jesus prayed and hearing the Word dwelling among us, we are challenged to offer ourselves to be blessed, broken and given back, to be Eucharist to others, to “be doers of the word.”

    Session 4: Packing for Mission

    • Oct. 24 | 6:30-8 p.m.
    • Vicky Otto

The Eucharist calls us, the People of God, to be missionary disciples, and the Synod reminds us that we each have a rightful place in the Church to exercise the gifts bestowed upon us at Baptism. Join us to explore what we need to pack (or repack) for our missionary journey.

    Cost
    We suggest $10 per session.

Watch the Video of Session 1: Immersed in Mass, Encountering God

    • Sept. 19 | 6:30-8 p.m.
    • Fr. Ron Will, C.PP.S., and Lucia Ferrara

Each eucharistic celebration is an encounter with Jesus. Attending Mass week after week, year after year, one is tempted to turn on automatic pilot and become numb to that encounter. Awaken your senses and learn how what we do at Sunday Mass relates to the bigger picture of your life.

Here is a link to a document that Fr. Ron wants you to download and print. You will need it during his talk.
