This four-session book study will explore Christine Valters Paintner’s latest book, Sacred Time: Embracing an Intentional Way of Life. Paintner shows us that by becoming more in tune with the rhythms found in nature, we can live more intentionally and experience a transformation toward a more expansive way of being.

The discussion groups will meet in person and via Zoom. Choose Saturday morning or Tuesday evening sessions.

We will explore eight cycles of sacred time that will ground us in our everyday lives. Within each cycle, we will be introduced to the wisdom from sacred tradition, Scripture, and such saints as St. Benedict, St Ignatius of Loyola, and St. Hildegard of Bingen.

Our understanding of each cycle will be enhanced by spiritual practices and creative exploration that will allow this wisdom to take root in our lives and expand our lives beyond the pressures of each day.

Saturday morning sessions will be facilitated by Kathy Keary.

Tuesday evening sessions will be facilitated by Dennis Coday.

    Ordering the Book

You will need to get a copy of the book yourself (about$16). If you need help ordering the book, please contact the Renewal Center. When ordering books online, the Kansas City Public Library recommends using Bookshop.org, which shares proceeds with local book stores. You can also order the book directly from the publisher, Ave Maria Press.

    Once You’re Registered

Order your book early so you can read the Introduction and first two chapters prior to our first gathering. Also, try the meditation exercises and creative practices offered. Try to spend one week with each chapter to fully immerse yourself in its wisdom.

Some people have asked about COVID-19 protocols at the Renewal Center. We want you to know that we practice social distancing and require masks indoors.
