Creating a Connected World: Social Justice Camp for Youth

    June 7-8 (Tues-Wed)

    6-8:30 p.m

Youth (grades 7 and up) from around the Kansas City Metro Area will gather for empowering talks, fun crafts and socializing. The aim is to know yourself better and meet some new friends. This is our third annual summer youth camp.

Registration is open to groups or individuals. Suggested donation: $10 per person. Scholarships are available. Call or email for details.

Tuesday, June 7: Connection with Others
Savannah Poolman from Operation Breakthrough will show youth how using kindness helps others through difficult times. Lynnette Folwer of Mid America Head Start offers strategies youth can use to empower and energize their journey into adulthood.

Wednesday, June 8: Connecting with Creation
Wednesday: Francesca Ferrara from Smith and Boucher Engineers will have youth build towers using marshmallows. Matt Riggs (a.k.a. Eco Elvis) will get youth dancin’, singin’ and all shook up while raising awareness of environmental issues. His songs are all recycled!

    Every Evening: Connect with Ourselves
Every evening, we’ll eat supper together, play games, make crafts and make friends. We’ll end the two-day camp making s’mores around a campfire.
