We are pilgrim people, a people on a sacred journey. A year ago, Pope Francis called on all believers to a special journey during the Jubilee year of 2025, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” As the Jubilee year begins to wind down, Advent begins, which intensifies the call for us to be hope-filled pilgrims.

For our Advent Pilgrimage, we will find hope by walking with pilgrims of the past, including John the Baptist, Anna and Joachim, Mary and Joseph and others who appear in the Scripture readings for this Advent Season.

Through the gift of storytelling, we will read scripture and listen to the voices of the pilgrims as they share their experiences inviting us to reflect upon our own journey.  There will be time for sharing one’s reflection and journaling.  We will end our time with Advent carols inviting us into creating our own Advent carol drawing upon our reflections and the theme of Hope.

As pilgrims of hope, we will seek spiritual renewal and reflect on God’s presence as we journey toward Christmas and the Incarnation.
