Fall Equinox Celebration: Abundant Harvest Sept 22
Reconciliation with the earth through planet friendly agriculture
Precious Blood Renewal Center celebrates our connectedness to the earth and nature by marking the change of the season.
The Fall celebration will be held Sept. 22, 3-5 p.m.
Rick Burnette, who has more than three decades of experience in sustainable agriculture, will lead us. Rick will be speaking about producing food in a way that sustains people and the planet, and ways that we can be in solidarity with those who do not have the food they need.
The day includes a guide meditation walk of the Renewal Center’s Reconciliation Labyrinth and a chance to work in the garden.
A simple meal will follow Rick’s presentation. If you have produce to share from you’re home garden, please bring it along.
Rick and his wife, Ellen, helped begin a farmer resource center with Burmese refugees on the Thai border. Most recently, they founded Cultivate Abundance, a non-profit organization that promotes food solidarity.
Through Cultivate Abundance, they work with migrant farm workers and their families in Immokalee, Florida, to produce home and community gardens. They also consult with farmers and farm communities in the Caribbean and Central America.
